Centy Books is positioned as an ERP-embedded accounting system rather than a standalone bookkeeping tool. It handles the core financial workflow for a business — sales invoicing, purchases, journalling, VAT, and reporting — with eTIMS/Slade 360 integration built into the invoicing workflow to meet KRA electronic invoicing requirements. The module sits within the broader Centy ERP alongside Centy Fleet, Centy Pack, and Centy Guard, which feed transactions into it.
Unlike standalone tools, Centy Books connects to the wider Centy ecosystem — eTIMS / Slade 360, Centy Pack, Centy Fleet, and Centy Guard — creating one continuous operational workflow instead of disconnected systems.
How it works
Set up the books
KRA details and invoice or document templates are configured in Settings before the rest of the module is used.
Raise a sale
An invoice posts simultaneously to Accounts Receivable and Sales/Income, and transmits to KRA through eTIMS.
Record a purchase
A purchase invoice posts to Accounts Payable and the relevant expense account, mirroring the sales flow in reverse.
Reconcile & journal
Payments settle receivables and payables automatically; anything outside that automatic posting goes through the Journal directly.
Close the period
Automated checks confirm the books are connected, entries are saved, and the expense pool is within wallet balance before the period locks.
